A daily training of different contemporary dance practices
For professional dancers, the Profitraining Freiburg (PTF) offers a regular training in a wide range of contemporary dance techniques. Experienced instructors from the region as well as (inter-) national guest teachers give classes on a weekly basis. The training approaches include somatic practices, martial arts as well as improvisational practices.
The PTF is one of the outcomes of the Cooperative Dance Development Concept Freiburg (2017-2021) and was organized and promoted through the channels of Tanznetz Freiburg gUG until the end of 2022. Since then, bewegungs-art has resumed the organization and promotion of the training as a relevant part of its dance training qualification program.

Rotating weekly between six different training locations.
We are happy that 6 cooperation partners from the Freiburg dance scene support us and provide their great rooms for a collective training:

WHO
As the Profitraining Freiburg is aimed at professional dancers, we require participants to have completed at least a 2-year dance training program. Having said that, we also know there are exceptions where you are at the professional level/working in the field and have not completed a formal education program.

Profitraining Freiburg | dance creating since 2018
The various types of contemporary dance techniques to improvisation training in our professional training nicely reflect the diversity of the independent dance scene in this city. Like many of us, I am also very busy with my own projects. The professional training is a great way for me to get together with the others on a regular basis, to exchange ideas and to get inspired.
After receiving her BA in Anthropology (Smith College, USA), Rebecca Mary Narum returned to dance in 2013.
She studied and worked in New York, Spain and Germany, and graduated from bewegungs-art - centre for Dance, Improvisation and Performance (2017 Freiburg). She is co-founder of Quizzical Körper – a dance theater collective focused on improvisation, performing in Germany and abroad.
Her choreographic work is characterized by her interest in the expressive potential of the body in relation to space and sound, as well as how to create a sensory resonance with the audience.
In her classes, she imparts a deep, anatomical understanding combined with precise movement patterns. She blends the boundaries between technique and improvisation/exploration to open a space where dancers experience different movement principles to learn to move with grace, ease, and expressivity.
